The Access English Centre has partnered with the Province of Manitoba’s Adult Language Training Branch and United Way to offer newly-arrived immigrants the opportunity to practice their English language skills in a conversational setting.
Volunteer facilitators work with the Volunteer Coordinator and the EAL (English as an additional language) Specialist to provide conversation groups to Adult EAL learners.
AEC provides conversation sessions to newcomers to Manitoba:
• who are waiting to enter a formal EAL class
• who want to supplement their learning
• who are not eligible for Manitoba Adult EAL Programs
• who are not currently attending Adult EAL Programs
Conversations will focus on topics of interest and importance to adult EAL learners of all levels and are offered at a variety of times during the week.
