Chamber names Immigrant Centre 2012 Spirit of Winnipeg finalist

On Thursday January 19th, Immigrant Centre Executive Director, Linda Lalande, and Board President, Keith Solmundson, were invited to attend the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Members Luncheon, where it was announced that for the second year running Immigrant Centre has been chosen as a finalist in the Spirit of Winnipeg Awards.

The Chamber, together with their presenting sponsor BDO, created these awards two years ago to shine a light on the great innovation and entrepreneurship that helps define our city. There are three finalists for each of the six categories: Large Business, Medium Business, Small Business, Start-Up Business, Charity and Not-For-Profit. Immigrant Centre has been selected in the Charity section, along with Siloam Mission and Winnipeg Harvest.

The eighteen finalists will be recognized for their innovative accomplishments at a gala dinner at the Fairmont Winnipeg on March 2nd. For more information about this year's awards, to buy tickets, or to read about last year's finalists and recipients, please visit the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce website at http://www.winnipeg-chamber.com/events/spiritofwinnipeg.aspx
