The Immigrant Centre has been awarded two Spirit awards by the United Way for our Workplace Campaign.
The first award is the 2011 Employee Quantum Leap. This means that as a staff we have increased our workplace donations by 25% for 2011.
The second is the Workplace Campaign Award and we have received the Silver Award. This award celebrates and acknowledges that the Immigrant Centre demonstrated outstanding involvement, contributions and leadership during the 2011 United Way Campaign. The Silver Award means that 65% of IC employees have donated an average of $78 each ($1.50/week) to united Way.
Our support of the United Way is a gift of hope, ensuring our community remains stable today and can emerge stronger tomorrow. We are helping to give youth alternatives to crime, drugs, and life on the streets, helping to reduce poverty and build safer, healthier neighbourhoods.
Thank you to Marsha Palansky, Manager of Volunteer Services for co-ordinating our campaign and congratulations to everyone who helped by making a contribution to the United Way.
