AN OPPORTUNITY BY THE BIOSCIENCE ASSOCIATION MANITOBA: LANGUAGE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERNATIONALLY TRAINED INDIVIDUALS IN THE FIELDS OF SCIENCE AND BIOSCIENCE.

Do you know any Internationally Educated Professionals that might be interested in this free training opportunity?  

The Biosciences Association of Manitoba is offering the Scientific and Technical English as an Additional Language (STEL) training program specifically for the bioscience sector – FREE to individual participants – a value of over $7000.00. 

Successful candidates will receive training to upgrade essential professional skills to help them enter the exciting bioscience workforce. At completion, candidates will be able to showcase their skills to employers with an industry-wide recognized BioReady TM certificate from BioTalent Canada!

Eligibility: The training is open to recent immigrants (born outside of Canada and eligible to work in Canada) This includes refugees, temporary residents and newcomers who may be Permanent Residents or Canadian citizens.  Language level: CLB 6-8

Candidates must be trained in the area of biosciences as demonstrated by: Previous employment in bioscience* industry and/or completion of academic and/or technical training in the biosciences. For purposes of this program, biosciences include the following areas:

BioHealth – develop and commercialize innovations that allow for the early identification, prevention and/or treatment of costly and debilitating illness and disease. Includes functional (healthier for you) foods and ingredients and natural health products and the areas of digital health, medical devices, medicinal products, food processing and manufacturing, and dietary supplements.

AgBioTech – develop and commercialize innovations and tools related to agricultural plants or animals for the purpose increasing yields, production efficiencies and/or impacts, and/or improving nutritional profiles. Include the areas of plant genomics, precision agriculture, health treatments for animals, as some examples.

Clean BioTech -use materials from or with living organisms to generate new value-added products, with the goal to reduce negative impacts on the environment. Includes the areas of renewable fuels, industrial bioproducts, and bioremediation technologies.
