Immigrant Centre has resumed in-person services for all clients (only one person per family); visit us at 100 Adelaide St. Following Manitoba public health orders, anyone who arrived in Manitoba from outside of Canada, or from Quebec, eastern Ontario or the Atlantic provinces must self-isolate for 14 days.

Update – July 2, 2020
Our Front Desk is now open Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm and Friday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- Settlement services for new and existing clients are available only Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Online and phone appointments are available to anyone self-isolating.
- Employment services are available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Employment Services appointments may be available after 4:30 pm upon request. Online and phone appointments are available to anyone self-isolating.
- Language Bank Services are available only Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Some online services are available to everyone, through our website (see Services –> Language Bank)
- Access English Centre is open to in-person client registration Tuesday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, and Friday to Saturday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Online assessment and registration services are available to anyone self-isolating. AEC Conversation Classes will continue online via Zoom for the summer and fall.
- Volunteer Services are available in person by appointment only.
- Nutrition Services classes in person may be available in the near future.

We have resumed in-person services. New and existing clients can come to 100 Adelaide St. during our temporary office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Our centre will be closed to in-person services after 4:30 pm and on Saturdays. However, some of our online services and courses after 4:30 pm or on Saturdays will remain available during our temporary office hours, including our .

All staff members now have access to their voicemail. While they won’t be able to answer your call, they can listen to your voicemail while working remotely. Please call (204) 943-9969 followed by the extension of the staff member you wish to reach.
Please note that all our tax clinics are suspended until further notice. Also, as of this week, all staff can access their voicemail remotely. If you are unable to email a staff member, please leave them a voicemail message.

The health and well-being of our staff, clients, volunteers, and partners is our priority at Immigrant Centre. Following the advice of federal and provincial authorities, and to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Immigrant Centre will suspend any in-person services, workshops and programs for two weeks, effective immediately and until March 31st, 2020.
We will continue providing services remotely, whether it is via email, phone, or virtually. This is an emerging and developing situation, and we are only starting to create strategies to continue supporting newcomers remotely. We ask you to please:
- Contact your settlement facilitator via email if you need any settlement services; they will arrange a way to assist you via email, phone, or virtually;
- Contact your employment facilitator via email if you need any employment services or support; they will arrange a way to assist you via email, phone, or virtually;
- Access English Centre’s English Conversation Circles ended its winter session last Saturday. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates on the start date of the next session;
- If you are an active volunteer, please email Ann Mohammed for further information; if you are a prospective volunteer, click here. If you want to request a tutor, please click here;
