How did the Immigrant Centre help you to find a job in Canada?
Thanks to the English Sessions, I improved my English skills gaining more confidence and that definitely helped me during the interviews.
What types of job search techniques did you use to find your job?
I did networking, I went to a public event related to my profession, in there I meet people interested in my CV, after some days I sent my CV to them and after a month (more or less) I got my first interview.
What differences have you noticed between working in Canada and working in your home country?
Here the labor hours are respected even in my profession, in Colombia, they were frequent work extra-time but without extra-payment.
What advice would you give to immigrants and newcomers looking for work?
There is a phrase I heard some time ago, looking for Job is your Job, be passionate in your search, in here are more tools to help with that Job, from my experience networking is one of the most valuables.
