How did the Immigrant Centre help you to find a job in Canada?
I worked in a temp role with a landscaping company. I just finished my contract with them. I took many ideas from all I have received

What types of job search techniques did you use to find your job?
job search websites, job fair, applied online

What differences have you noticed between working in Canada and working in your home country?
Back home I worked in office. In Canada, I just have worked outdoors (construction)

What advice would you give to immigrants and newcomers looking for work?
Focus, patience, workshops Very useful in fact. For someone who has been a professional, and as a Refugee claimant, access to job opportunities is difficult because in most cases, if getting a certification in Supply chain (my case) I cannot do it or access to programs to give me the certification as benefit until I get the approval of my Hearing. Meantime, companies consider as risky since the approval is not complete yet. The interim status is a restriction. Options to jobs are less. More campaigns like the most recent one (Refugee Hiring Event) is one of the best options to focus the efforts for Refugees including office and general positions.
