Immigrant Center helped me understand how the Canadian workforce works and how to write a good resume. I learned the importance of matching the skills I have with the type of job I want to apply for.
What types of job search techniques did you use to find your job?
I used online resources manly indeed. However, I found my current position thank to the Inmigrant Centre job database.
What differences have you noticed between working in Canada and working in your home country?
One of the biggest differences is that I am working from home and this is a completely new experience. it allows me to have a better balance with my professional and familiar responsibility.
What advice would you give to immigrants and newcomers looking for work?
As a newcomer every experience is different and some situations can be more challenging than others. Overall, I will suggest immersing in the culture and language through online resources, visiting historic places, reading newspapers, volunteering, visiting interesting places and registering at the immigrant centre where they can find guidance on how to settle and look for the expected job and achieve their dreams,
