Duties and Responsibilities
Provide accurate oral (spoken) interpretation of information at locations such as:
- police station
- government offices
- medical & dental appointments
- court *(Must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen)
- legal office
- schools
- other agencies
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum English benchmark of CLB 8 or equivalent and fluency in at least one other language
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good time management and organization skills
- Previous interpreting experience is an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Schedule and Availability
- Available for appointments on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Evening and week shifts may also be available
- Appointments are booked for a minimum of two hours.
Additional Details
- Interpreters are paid at a rate of $30 an hour.
- Interpreters are booked on an as-needed basis.
