NISW Fair at Entry Program

NISW

Creating and fostering community partnerships is a key component of our mission at the Immigrant Centre; these partnerships enable us to help newcomers achieve their potential.

One example of these successful partnerships is the Neighbourhood Immigrant Settlement Worker (NISW) Fair, hosted by Entry Program, with the purpose of connecting permanent residents with NISW in their neighbourhood. The NISW Fair featured a presentation by Roselyn Advincula, Coordinator of the NISW Program, and booths by NISW from Family Dynamics, Seven Oaks Immigrant Services, NorWest Co-op Community Health, River East Transcona Immigrant Services, West Central Women’s Resource Centre, Rene Deleurme Centre (part of the Louis Riel School Division), and St. James-Assiniboia. Entry Program clients who participated in this Fair had a chance to meet NISW and find resources for themselves and their families in their own neighbourhood.
