Job Title: PHIMS Data Entry Clerk

How did the Immigrant Centre help you to find a job in Canada?
IC sent me available positions to apply.

What types of job search techniques did you use to find your job?
I visited job sites (ZipRecruiter, Indeed, Jobomas) and searched the Careers page of company's websites.

What differences have you noticed between working in Canada and working in your home country?
In Canada, if you are fit-to-type and meet employers' requirements you will likely get an interview invite. Unlike in my country, there is no merit. You have to know the hiring manager (or someone high-up) personally to get an interview invite.

What advice would you give to immigrants and newcomers looking for work?
Get help from IC (or the many other Immigrant-help agencies) to write a proper Canadian-style Resume and Cover Letter for you; and make maximum use of the hiring agencies. They have good contacts and know how to place job seekers.
