It helps me to understand the work culture and feel more confident in the job interview. They share best practice on how to approach interviewer, send resumes and present yourself to others.

What types of job search techniques did you use to find your job?
One of the seminars that they offer about contact center I entered their website and start applying online. It was like the union who present the entire industry which was very helpful.

What differences have you noticed between working in Canada and working in your home country?
Here they respect you out of work hours and make sure you have enough time to spend with your family. The day to day basis is less stressful than back home. They ensure you have all the tools and commodities to do your job at the highest level. The supervision is minimal. The benefits for the employees are more and not only covers the worker as well as his/her family.

What advice would you give to immigrants and newcomers looking for work?
First, you need to understand the work culture. Second, choose a job/industry that is similar to your work experience. Third, look for information about the industry and understand they laws, unions and the companies. Fourth, adapt your resume to the industry/ position you are looking for. 5th, if you have management experience look for jobs above entry level that are similar to your experience. 6th, don't be afraid of receiving no for an answer at the end of the day is an experience and you learn from it.
